GoTenna’s are the new magical texting device sold in pairs (minimum 2 for 149$, pre-order ONLY price). You and your buddy have to Install the GoTenna app in the your respective mobile phones and have to “Bluetooth pair” the GoTenna device with the respective mobile phones. You can start sending messages using the app. The messages reaches the paired GoTenna device via Bluetooth and reaches your buddy’s GoTenna devices as radio waves.

Even though the range of GoTenna’s are debatable I see this as a micro trend – IoT without intermediate brokers/platforms, direct device to device communication. How far can we take this ?
